Christmas Party Lipstick #1 – Pink

The party season is here! The calendar app on my iPhone is currently my best friend as I try to keep track of all our commitments for the next month, which include a number of Christmas parties and Christmas Fayres. Oh yes, bring on the mulled wine and mince pies! I’ve already planned a couple of go-to makeup looks which involve either a bold red or a rose pink lipstick; I’m still searching for the perfect red lippie, but I think I’ve found the exact pink lipstick I was looking for.
This Avon Luxe Couture Creme Lipstick in Polished Rose has the smoothest and most moisturising formula you can imagine. Even on my mega dry lips it glides like a dream without compromising the pigmentation; super hydrating and pigmented – what more could you ask for!
Polished Rose is a shimmery rose shade with a hint of coral and a pearlescent finish; it suits my skin tone really well and it brightens up my face when paired with a smokey eye. I love the luxurious gold mirrored packaging – it’s so YSL! The staying power is what you would expect of a highly moisturising lipstick – good enough, but not as good as a matte lipstick. I’ll definitely need a top up after a few mince pies, but with a pretty packaging like that, this lipstick will be an added bonus in my bag!
So this is lipstick #1 and I’ll let you know when I find lipstick #2. I’m looking for a matte deep red lipstick, like the one Charlotte from Revenge is wearing on this photo. Can you help me find something like this? Do you also plan your Christmas parties makeup looks in advance or am I the only loser? I hope not! :)
