Golden Globes 2013: Red Carpet Favourites!

Golden Globes 2013: Red Carpet Favourites!

Last night the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills saw some of the most glamorous people in the world looking their best for the Golden Globes Awards 2013. As aways, some celebrities make a simple entrance, others make heads turn. Today I’ll be showing you my favourite looks from the evening and then I’ll ask you guys to leave a comment saying which of these celebs should I do a hair and makeup tutorial! Sounds fun? :)

Golden Globes 2013: Emily Blunt in Michael Kors

Emily Blunt in Michael Kors: Loved, loved, loved her dress! It’s a fishtail gold lace with spikes and cutout details along the waist. I loved the sleek high bun hairstyle, which shows off the detail of her beautiful pink jewelled earrings. Her makeup was stunning; she had soft pink lips with a brown/taupe smokey eye.

Golden Globes 2013: Sofia Vergara in Michael Cinco

Sofia Vergara in Michael Cinco: She’s a sex bomb; whatever she wears she looks sexy! She’s wearing a simple black sequin dress, but she still looks stunning – just look at those killer curves! I love the sweetheart neckline and the slight fishtail detail of the dress. Her hair looks nice, but a bit plain for my taste; I wish she’d done something to show more of her face, because her makeup was really pretty (apart for the lipstick – I would’ve gone softer!).

Golden Globes 2013: Claire Danes in Versace

Claire Danes in Versace: She looked stunning in that draped red dress, super flattering and pretty, even though her makeup wasn’t really my taste; it was a bit too untidy and smudgy for my liking.

Golden Globes 2013: Michelle Dockery in Alexandre Vauthier

Michelle Dockery in Alexandre Vauthier: Michelle’s dress was one of my favourites, but one that only her and a handful of people can pull it off. It’s a fitted white dress with a golden lace high neck top. She looked like a greek godess! Everything looked very well coordinated; the short textured wavy hair is perfect not to hide the dress and the makeup was very simple, but beautiful nevertheless! The only thing I wasn’t too keen on was the shoulder pads, but that’s just personal preference :)

Golden Globes 2013: Megan Fox in Dolce and Gabbana

Megan Fox in Dolce and Gabbana: Megan is wearing a simple, yet sophisticated form-fitting blush pink lace dress with golden details. Her makeup was simply stunning; definitely my favourite makeup of the evening! She had strong contoured cheeks, a soft champagne and brown smokey eye and nude lips. Her hair was in a side parting with beautiful soft and bouncy waves towards the ends.

Golden Globes 2013: Megan Katharine McPhee in Theyskens' Theory

Katharine McPhee in Theyskens’ Theory: She’s wearing a black dress with a plunging neckline, fitted around the waist and draped from the waist down with a big front slit, which is super sexy, but not over the top. Her hair was up in a messy bun and her makeup consisted of a defined eye with a lot of black eyeliner and shades of brown to softly define the crease, flawless skin and nude lips. Black and white is a huge trend for 2013, so she was right on point with this dress and incredibly sexy!

Golden Globes 2013: Isla Fisher in Reem Acra

Isla Fisher in Reem Acra: I don’t really know who she is, but I loved the jewelled dress. It’s stunningly elegant and it’s my favourite Red Carpet dress! The hair and makeup were a bit meh for me; I would’ve had the hair half up and the lips were a bit too dark for the dress.

Golden Globes 2013: Hayden Panettiere in Roberto Cavalli

Hayden Panettiere in Roberto Cavalli: OMG, how gorgeous is that lace dress with silver bling all over it? As a 2013 bride, I can safely say I could wear that for my wedding! But Hayden made it look not so bride-like by adding a pink clutch bag, which looked super cute, feminine and fun. Her hair and makeup were perfect! I loved the ‘straight, but not so straight’ hair with a bit of texture and her skin was glowing and healthy-looking.

Golden Globes 2013: Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy

Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy: I’m in awe of this super angelical and feminine ballet pink lace dress, slightly fitted but not too tight. Her hair was divine; sleek at the top and soft and smooth waves all the the way down to the ends. Her makeup was very simple with shades of warm brown and gold glitter which went really well with her hair colour and skin tone.

Golden Globes 2013: Julianne Moore in Tom Ford

Julianne Moore in Tom Ford: Julianne looked super elegant and very in trend with this structured black and white dress with golden details. I love that it’s backless but has a high top at the front; stunning! Oh, and no one rocks a bright lipstick like Julianne, right? :) Her hair was in an super pretty and sleek updo, which really suited the dress.

Golden Globes 2013: Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad: She’s wearing this nude and white lace dress that is super flattering on her figure. Even though it’s a sheer dress, it looks quite classy because it’s that ‘I’m showing but not really’ kind of look. She’s also gone for the soft and bouncy curls look with a side-parting. The makeup didn’t really impress me, but it wasn’t a total disaster!

Golden Globes 2013: Maria Menounos in Celia Kritharioti

Maria Menounos in Celia Kritharioti: I love the simplicity of the whole look, but she still looks stunning! The dress is super fitted and sparkly, her hair is glossy and bouncy and her makeup has a gorgeous unexpected pop of colour, with a bit of blue on her eyes. As a whole, this is my favourite look!

Golden Globes 2013 Hottest Trends

Makeup Trend

This was the Golden Globes of the nude lipstick. Even though the eye-makeup varied a lot amongst the celebs, most of them were rocking a nude lip.

Hair Trend

The most worn hairstyle on the Golden Globes 2013 Red Carpet was definitely the sleek and smooth at the top and soft and bouncy waves towards the bottom, either with a deep side parting or centre parting.

Fashion Trend

This year, the celebs were a fan of fitted fishtail dresses, which is super exciting because that’s the style of my very own wedding dress :)

So which was your favourite overall look? Who wore the best dress? Who had the best hair and makeup? Which of these look would you like to see a tutorial? Let me know!
