My Makeup in 2012 (Part 2)
On the second half of 2012 I certainly enjoyed the subtle makeup looks a bit more, with a few exceptions, namely the super editorial YSL campaign makeup I did. I finally perfected the classic brown and gold smokey eye that I love so much, and I practised the winged eyeliner art like crazy, which I’m pleased to report I’m getting better at, but I still take far too long doing it (on average 15 minutes… per eye!).
I wore much less makeup in general, and I had one too many outings without a slap of makeup on my face; probably not the best idea, but it did feel very liberating. Ironically, I developed a chronic addiction to expensive foundations, and at one point in time, I was using a different foundation every day of the week to try to justify my addiction.
I searched high and low for ‘the golden glow’ and I finally found it in the form of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle (where were you all my life?). Unfortunately, it was a bit too late for it because winter was coming and my natural tan was disappearing, so having ‘the golden glow’ didn’t make too much sense.
So in 2013, I vow to:
- Try to find and stay faithful to one or two (maybe three) foundations;
- To buy less random lipsticks and invest in good quality ones;
- To fall less for hyped-up products;
- To have fun and be confident with my makeup, including red lipstick!
Oh, and to loose weight, of course! After all, this wouldn’t be a girl’s New Year’s resolution if it didn’t mention our weight, right? :)
What did you learn in 2012 and what are your 2013 resolutions? I hope you liked my little 2-part series and enjoyed looking back at the year of 2012 on Le Beauty Girl; I know I did :) To read part 1, click HERE.
Happy New Year, everyone!

What a brilliant post! Your makeup always looks so amazing. In 2013 I would like to stop being lazy in the mornings and make the most of my makeup, finding that perfect ‘no-makeup’ look!

Also I was checking my google analytics and wanted to say thanks for having my blog on your blogroll, I’ve had a decent amount of traffic from it! :-)
