Maybelline Dream Terra Sun Bronzing Powder in ‘#2 Golden’, £5.99 | Boots
Being the shopaholic I am, I went over to Tesco and instead of doing my usual shopping, I had a little detour to the beauty aisle. I’ve been meaning to try one these Maybelline bronzers for a few weeks now, but never knew which shade to choose, so I finally settled on the ‘#02 Golden’.
Maybelline Dream Terra Sun Bronzing Powder is a compact powder bronzer, most suited to medium skin tones. It has a slight orange bronze tone to it, so if you’re fair, you probably won’t like it. On my skin, it looks quite nice and delicate; it has a bit of shimmer, but nothing I couldn’t cope with. This bronzer smells like talcum powder, and not surprisingly, if you have a look at the ingredients at the bottom, the first one is ‘talc’.
My biggest criticism is the shade range; the one I chose is ‘Golden’, which is the darkest shade of the three. ‘Light Bronze’ is probably most suitable to fair and light skin tones, and ‘Tiger’ to medium light and light olive skin tones. ‘Golden’ suits my medium olive skin quite well, but if you’re any darker than me, you’ll struggle to find a shade to suit your skin.
Packaging wise, it’s a simple plastic container; the lid is transparent with bronze writing on it and the bottom is of a golden bronze colour. To be honest, it does feel quite cheap, but in contrast to the packaging, the actual bronzer is beautiful, with an intricate engraved sun shape detail.
Overall, this is a good bronzer and I like how it looks on my skin. I have tried better bronzers, but for the price, this is probably the best ‘value-for-money’ bronzer I own. It adds a lovely warmth to the skin and it’s not too chalky.
Have you tried Maybelline’s Dream Terra Sun Bronzer? What do you think of it? Let me know ;)
