Another day, another beauty box. This time I’m reviewing my first Feel Unique Beauty Box, and what better way to start than with the Christmas box! I had heard great things about Feel Unique’s Beauty Box, and I’m pleased to report that this box did not disappoint.
The box looks absolutely gorgeous, it reminded me a lot of the Joliebox UK (review here). Either Joliebox UK (ex-Boudoir Privé) took their inspiration from the Feel Unique box, or the other way around. The difference is, instead of having a lid at the top like all the other beauty boxes, the Feel Unique Beauty Box opens by sliding it to the side. It’s quite quirky and ‘unique’, but it won’t be as practical to re-use it for storage purposes.
Enough about the looks, let’s get onto the contents. At first glance, I was a bit unsure as to whether or not I would like the contents, but I really liked the fact that I only knew a couple of brands, which means I’m discovering new and exciting brands.
Nails Inc. Oxford Circus Limited Edition Nail Polish
All three boxes to which I subscribe (Glossybox, Joliebox and Feel Unique) had a very exciting nail varnish inside. I wasn’t quite as pleased with the colour of this polish, but given that it’s Nails Inc., I let it go. The colour is called ‘Oxford Circus’ and it is matte baby pink. I already have the Nails Inc ‘Picadilly Circus’ polish, which I got for free with a magazine, and I much prefer Picadilly Circus (photos here). However, they both have an amazing formulation that leaves an opaque finish with just one coat and dries really quick. So, all in all, I was pleased I got this even though the colour is a bit too ‘Barbie Girl’ to me!
Clarisonic Gentle Hydro Cleanser
(£21 at Feelunique.com)
Anything with the name Clarisonic excites me. I’ve been lusting over the Clarisonic Mia (see here) for quite some time now, but haven’t quite managed to justify buying it, so whilst I can’t have what I want, I’ll want what I have! :-) This cleanser leaves the skin feeling so smooth and silky; honestly, it’s the softest my skin has ever felt with a cleanser. It has a distinctively nice smell to me, a bit like a newborn baby, did anyone else smelled that or am I insane?
TIGI Bed Head Candy Fixations Sugar Dust
(£9.35 at Feelunique.com)
This sugar dust is used to absorb the oils and add volume to your hair. I was very surprised when I opened the bottle, and the actual consistency of this product wasn’t a powder like dry shampoos, but rather, it was more like tiny bits of cotton that disintegrate into a powder as you touch them. I’m not a fan of big hair on myself, but I’m willing to give this a try for the sake of blogging. I’ll let you know :-)
Annick Goutal Mandragore Eau De Toilette
(50ml £43.35 or 100ml £62.05 at Feelunique.com)
If you’ve been reading my Beauty Boxes reviews for a while, you know very well I’m not a fan of boxes that include perfume samples. However, Feel Unique went the extra mile, and instead of including the traditional cheap perfume sample, they’ve actually included a proper miniature of a perfume bottle. Well done, Feel Unique! The fragrance is also really nice; it’s warm, spicy, deep and luxurious, perfect for the winter months!
Figs & Rouge Sweet Geranium 100% Organic Balm
(£3.49 at Feelunique.com)
The last product of my December Feel Unique box is a multiuse balm. This reminds me of he Rose & Co Salve that I got in my Boudoir Privé box a while ago. It can be used on lips, face and body to soothe and condition chapped lips or dry skin. It smells very organic and natural, which is not my favourite scent, but I like the texture that almost melts into a liquid when you apply it onto the skin.
Well, well… This is the last of my December Beauty Boxes and they all left me feeling very Christmassy! I was really pleased with all of the boxes, but that will make it really hard to give one up in January. As for my first Feel Unique Beauty Box, I am very impressed. Even though I didn’t love everything in the box, I’m sure some of the products will quickly become ‘staples’ in my makeup bag!
What did you think of my December Feel Unique Beauty Box? Do you think it was Christmassy enough? What did you get in yours? Let me know :-)
Au revoir!
