Tinted Moisturiser or Foundation?

Hey girls, and welcome to The Beauty Group blog!

The first thing we are going to talk about here is deciding between Tinted Moisturiser or Foundation for this summer.

So, as all of you know, it is almost full-on summer here in Britain, and I thought I’d try something different this year. Instead of foundation, I decided I want to try a tinted moisturiser, so that I’d still have some coverage on my skin, but nothing too heavy.

I have lots of normal moisturisers, and recently I’ve been loving the HydraQuench Cream by Clarins, but as it is only a normal moisturiser, I still feel as though I need to put on concealer and foundation to cover some spots and blemishes.

Last night, I was on YouTube checking out the recently uploaded videos by the beauty gurus I love, and one of my favourites is the gorgeous Ruth (AModelRecommends). She was doing a tutorial on a Cheap Everyday Makeup look and she mentioned the Triple Protection Tinted Moisturiser by No. 7.

To be honest, my immediate thought was ‘No, thanks’, first, because my past experiences in buying No. 7 products haven’t been great. I bought a Waterproof Mascara from them a while back and it just didn’t work for me.

Also, two weeks ago I bought a Mineralize Satinfinish SPF 15 Foundation by MAC and I have been absolutely loving it in every single way, and using it every single day. It covers all of my blemishes and gives a polished flawless look, which I love. But despite my scepticism, I decided to go ahead and take Ruth’s advice and give No. 7 another try.

So I went to Boots today and picked up the tinted moisturiser in the colour medium, and rushed back home to try it.

Oh-my-God! I’m in love this thing. It is exactly what I was looking for in terms of a fresh, natural, but still flawless look for the summer, and it made my skin feel so soft and silky! It has SPF 15, which is a major bonus for me, because I don’t tend to use separate sunscreen.

But the best thing about it is the price. Only £12.50 in Boots, for a great product that will definitely replace my Foundation for the summer. And if you have one of those Boots £5 off vouchers, you can buy it for £7.50!

Boots is also doing another great deal on No.7 products, which is ‘buy 3 get the cheapest free’, so I bought a couple of brushes (which I will have to talk about on a separate post because they are a great bargain), and the tinted moisturiser, all for £19!

I definitely recommend giving this No. 7 tinted moisturiser a try for the summer.

The only downside is that they only come in 3 shades (fair, medium fair and medium), and for people with darker skin, it can be a bit too light. I’m a MAC NC35 Foundation, and the medium was almost too light for me, but because I like a little bit more of a lighter skin colour on my face to start, and then I can darken some areas with bronzers if I want, I didn’t mind it that much.

I hope you guys liked this mini-review and I hope it helped some of you decide to give tinted moisturiser a try for this summer!

Please leave your comments, and impressions of the product bellow, and if you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them.
