Part of being a beauty blogger is trying and reviewing loads of makeup products, and whilst that helps me make well-informed decisions when it comes to buying certain products, it has also made me a very difficult to please ‘blogger customer’. It’s hard to be impressed by any odd foundation once you’ve tried Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk; in the same way that it’s hard to like any eyeshadow palettes once you’ve had your mitts on not one, not two, but three Urban Decay Naked palettes. But every once in a while, something comes along and impresses me quite a bit; the culprit this time is from GloMineralsit’s a beaut of a quad!

GloMinerals Metallic Smoky Eye Kit

The GloMinerals Metallic Smoky Eye Kit is an eyeshadow quad that comes with 4 neutral shades and a very decent sized mirror. It’s compact enough to carry in your handbag, but you still get a significant amount of product in each pan. The shades are mostly yellow-based and vary from a light champagne to a dark coffee brown; the presence of antioxidants, including vitamins A, C, E and green tea, help maintain the skin’s natural radiance.

The eyeshadows are buttery soft, not chalky, and highly pigmented. I was very pleasantly surprised when I swatched them for the first time, as I didn’t expect that at all from a brand that I’d barely heard anything about until now. My only quibble with the eyeshadows in this quad is that, once applied on the eyelids, the colour loses a little bit of its depth; nothing too huge, I suppose, but here’s where that demanding ‘blogger customer’ side of mine kicks in! The colour payoff remains outstanding and the shades lasted for a good 7 hours with a primer.

Overall, this is a great little quad! The shades are super complementary to each other, the quality is great, the ingredients are kind to your skin, and the kit is very compact. I think I’ll have to spend some more time on the GloMinerals website! *danger, danger* Keep your eyes peeled on my YouTube channel, as I have a little Valentines Day makeup tutorial coming up soon using this palette! :)
