Outfit: The Hen Party Dress

Wedding, wedding, wedding! That’s all I seem to talk about here, isn’t it? I hope you guys don’t mind :) My days as a Miss are nearly over, and to celebrate becoming a Mrs, I’m planning to have the best time at my hen do (or bachelorette party, if you’re not from the UK). The details of the evening are not completely set yet, but I’m sure it will be something glamorous, and I have just the perfect dress for the occasion.

This dress is from Style Me Celeb and it’s the ‘Amy’ One Shoulder Gold Foil Bandage Dress. It’s inspired by the dress worn by Amy Childs from The Only Way is Essex, and it’s a figure-hugging bodycon dress made with heavyweight bandage material that holds everything in place and smoothes out the body. It’s one of those dresses that really slims you down and it will look great on all skin tones. The gold foil material feels really thick, and that’s how it manages to hold the body in so well. I got mine in a size Small and I’m a UK 8; this dress is available in a XS, S, M and L.

I think this dress looks great for a hen party; even though it’s incredibly form-fitting, it shows off your curves the right way. Granted, there’s really nowhere to hide behind this dress, but I think the lack of cleavage balances it out, making it demure enough for a soon to be Mrs :) The fiancé liked it as well! If you’re not getting married anytime soon, I think this dress would look lovely on a glam night out! I paired mine with some gold high heels and a half-up-half-down hair do.

My only word of advice is, do not try to overstretch the dress to fit you; even though the bandage material is thick, the seams look quite delicate, and I have the feeling they weren’t made to be stretched a lot. If you feel like the dress is too tight, it’s best to order a size bigger, rather than try to fit into the dress at any cost.
