Review: Avon Perfect Kiss Lip Gloss

Avon Perfect Kiss Lip Gloss in ‘Kiss of a Rose’*, £4 – Avon Shop (HERE)

If you followed my Lipstick challenge (HERE), you’re aware of my lipstick obsession. It’s very rare that I choose a lipgloss over a lipstick, but I think I have found a lipgloss that looks pretty good on its own, and may be better than some of my lipsticks.

This is the Avon Perfect Kiss Lip Gloss in the shade ‘Kiss of a Rose’, which contains natural oils and fruit enzymes to soften and smooth the lips. It has SPF 15 in it, and it’s available in 6 shades – Boldly Red, Kiss of a Rose, Plum Bitten, Butter Me Up, Pink Blush and Show Off Pink. The packaging is a transparent plastic tube with a silver prism-like plastic screw-on cap.

I was very pleased to find that it’s a totally non-sticky and moisturising lipgloss; it feels quite light on the lips and the colour payoff is amazing for a lipgloss. The shade ‘Kiss of a Rose’ is a deep rose with purple undertones and shimmer particles; at first, I didn’t think I would like this shade because it looked far too dark for my taste, but when I applied to my lips, I immediately fell in love with it. It definitely adds colour to the lips without being overly dark; it gives you that perfect everyday glossy lips with a hint of sparkle.

Don’t be put off my the colour on the tube; it comes out a much more natural red/rosy on the lips. I would give the Avon Perfect Kiss Lip Gloss a 10/10! It’s not sticky, it doesn’t have a funny taste/smell, it’s nicely pigmented, moisturising and slightly shimmery. The staying power is what you would expect of a normal lipgloss, so make sure to take it with you if you’re going out. An all-round great lipgloss that I haven’t heard much about in the beauty blogosphere.
