Superdry Beauty, from £2 – Superdry

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m always a bit sceptical when non-beauty brands decide to brand out into the makeup world; but my scepticism is slowly fading after the massive success that was the Topshop makeup line, and now that I’ve had the chance to try some of Superdry Beauty products I can safely say they’ve nailed it as well. Here are my favourite products from the collection:

Superdry Nail Paint in Soda Pop*, £6 – Superdry

The thing that impressed me the most about this varnish, was how quickly it dried; it takes a minute or so to fully dry, which is pretty impressive. The consistency is relatively thick and you can achieve an opaque finish with two coats. ‘Soda Pop’ is a bright orange shade, almost neon, which is super in trend for Spring / Summer 2013. Another cool thing is that there are lots of different bottle designs with the Superdry brand.

Superdry LipGlaze in Shocking Pink*, £7.50 – Superdry

This lipgloss has the cutest design in a transparent plastic tube with a hot pink thick silicone band detail. It works by twisting the end of the tube, which slowly fills the applicator with the gloss. The texture of the LipGlaze is great; not too thick, not too liquid, which makes for a smooth finish without being sticky. It has a hint of a sweet vanilla smell to it, nothing too overwhelming for people that don’t like strong scented products. ‘Shocking Pink’ looks like a bright pink on the tube, but on the lips it comes out quite sheer, just adding a hint of pink to the lips. I kind of prefer that it’s sheer because it makes it more wearable, but it can be a bit confusing if you’re expecting the colour that you saw on the tube.

Superdry Blush in Burnt Coral*, £10 – Superdry

This is definitely the star of the collection, in my opinion. It comes in an embossed tin with a mirror on the inside and a neon green silicone wristband, which is a nice little bonus for your money. The packaging is a little bit different than your average blush, but I like it; it definitely stands out from the crowd! The only downside is that you can’t see the shade unless you open the tin, but I guess the colourful wristbands are a good way to differentiate the shades. The blush is really pigmented and the colour payoff is outstanding, almost like something you’d get from a MAC blush. The formulation is soft and it’s not chalky at all; it can either be worn lightly for a more natural look, or you can build up the colour for a more intense look. ‘Burnt Coral’ is a dusty rose / coral shade with a hint of golden shimmer; it’s the perfect colour for a natural pop of colour on the cheeks!

So these are my favourite products from the Superdry Beauty range. I’m definitely impressed and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products I tried. If I were to pick only one product it would definitely be the Superdry Blush in Burnt Coral; such a pretty shade and great quality!

What do you think of non-beauty brands bringing out makeup collections? Have you tried anything from the Superdry Beauty range? I’d love to know :)
