This is another one of Alix’s recommendations; Alix runs ‘I Covet Thee‘, which is currently one of my favourite blogs to read and I love her videos as well. I seem to be obsessed with her videos lately and if she talks about a product, I have to have it! She said she loves this Barry M eyeliner and I went and got myself one to give it a whirl.
Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner Pen claims to be a “waterproof, smudgeproof, super long wear eyeliner”. Now those are quite bold claims to live up to, and if it does live up to them, this shall be declared my perfect kohl eyeliner, which is a tittle currently held by the Rimmel Exaggerate Automatic Waterproof Eye Definer (review HERE). Let’s get reviewing!
It comes in a retractable pen that you can twist up and down, much like the Rimmel one, which I absolutely love; I hate having to fiddle with eye liner sharpeners because you end up loosing a lot of product and also if you’re doing your makeup on the go, where do you put the rubbish after you finish sharpening it?!
Is it waterproof? Absolutely, yes! This eyeliner does not budge once it dries, so make sure you work fast with it. So, it’s beach safe, pool safe and rain safe; so far, so good!
Is it sumdgeproof? Yes, sir! Like I said before, once this dries, it does not budge. It takes a couple of seconds for it to completely set, but after that you can run your fingers quite hard over the line and it won’t move or fade. Not bad at all!
Is it super long wear? Hell, yes! I wore this on my lower and upper waterline, and even though these are the areas where my eyeliner fades most quickly, this eyeliner lasted really well. I applied a generous amount of eyeliner just to test the pigmentation, which unfortunately is the only less than amazing feature of the product; not that it has bad pigmentation, but the Rimmel eyeliner has better pigmentation than this one.
So, would I recommend this eyeliner? One million percent yes! The best thing about it, is that it lives up to all the claims, which is quite impressive because not many products that make bold claims live up to them. I still love my Rimmel one but the Barry M is definitely giving Rimmel a run for its money :)
