Barry M Dazzle Dusts have been around forever, but surprisingly enough, before today, I only owned one shade; so I thought I’d pick up some more colours to add to my collection. Dazzle Dusts are loose pigments with an intense pearly finish that can be used on eyes, cheeks and lips, very much like MAC Pigments. They are great to add that ‘wow factor’ to your makeup or just to intensify an eyeshadow shade that is maybe not so pigmented. I like to use loose pigments over the top of cream eyeshadow because the creamy texture gives the pigments something to stick to and stay put.
Barry M Dazzle Dust #72
is a very frosty bright emerald green with very subtle yellow reflexes
. I chose this shade because I’ve recently started experimenting with eyeshadow colours that complement my brown eyes, and green is one of them. I’ve done a green makeup look (HERE
) a few weeks ago, but when I created that look, I felt as if something was missing in the sparkle department, so hopefully this shade will help me achieve a more intense green when I try that look again.
Barry M Dazzle Dust #11
Shade 11 is described as a charcoal colour, but I think it’s definitely more like a pearly gunmetal than charcoal. It has a really deep metallic silver undertone, so deep that it almost looks pitch black. This is a great alternative to using black loose pigments or eyeshadows, which can sometimes look too dark and dull; it’s dark enough, but it has hints of silver that shine through beautifully.
Barry M Dazzle Dust #25
Shade 25 is a rusty bronze colour, again with a frosty finish. This is my favourite shade of the three; it’s so pigmented that you only need the tiniest amount to get great results. It’s also the most wearable shade out of the three and you all know how much I love bronzy/golden eye makeup. This looks like the perfect shade all over the lid with a bit of matte brown eyeshadow just on the crease to create a bronzy smokey eye. Shall I do a tutorial on a look like that? Let me know if you’d like to see it! :)
Overall I’m really happy with the Dazzle Dusts I got. They are inexpensive, super pigmented and multipurpose; really, you can’t go wrong! I can’t wait to get creative with them. The only downside would be the workability of pigments in general; it’s so hard to apply them without making a mess or even ruining your carpets, clothes, etc., but apart from that, they are just great!
What do you think of Barry M Dazzle Dusts? Do you own any of them? Whats your favourite shade? Any tips on how to apply them without making a real mess? Let me know :)
