Skincare With Sophyto – Step by Step
Sophyto is a skincare brand founded by Karen Sinclair Drake which claims that its products naturally nourish and restore the skin’s youthful glow and firmness. The entire line consists of 9 products formulated only with pure and natural ingredients, and today I’m reviewing 5 of them.
In general, I found the products scents to be too strong and exotic for my taste. After applying all 5 of them to my face there’s an odd mix of honey, hazelnut, Barbados cherry fruit, shitake fruit (wtf?!), elderberry, gypsy rhubarb and magnolia fruit. I was so overwhelmed by the smells that I spent little time actually concentrating on the properties of each product. But let me tell you a bit about each one of them.
Purifying Silken Cleanser (link): It felt quite light on the skin. The consistency is much thinner than something like the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. It blends in quickly leaving no greasiness behind.
Dual Action Exfoliating Treatment (link): The exfoliating particles are so thin that you can hardly feel them, but my face is probably happy after being treated so gently.
pH Optimizing Restorative Toner (link): This was pretty much like water to me. If it’s ‘highly concentrated’ or not, I didn’t notice any difference.
Multivitamin Facial Serum (link): I’d compare the consistency of this product to the Benefit Moisture Prep Toning Lotion, but with much slower absorption time.
Balancing Daily Moisturizer (link): This is the little gem in the line. It’s the perfect creamy consistency, non-sticky and non greasy. My skin felt a little tight after the moisturiser was fully absorbed, but the feeling went away a few minutes later.
As I mentioned before, the only thing about all 5 products that really puts me off is the strong exotic scent. If you can find a way to get past that, you can truly enjoy the benefits of this skincare line filled with natural ingredients.
Sophyto’s products are available now from Planet Organic.*
