I’ve recently posted about the L’Oreal Lumi Magique Primer (here), which is currently my favourite primer, so now it’s time to find out whether the Lumi Magique Foundation is as good as the primer!

I love the packaging! A glass bottle with rose gold details and a pump dispenser. I got mine in the shade ‘Gold Sand’, which is the darkest shade in the range. The shade is an almost perfect match to my medium olive skin with yellow undertones, but the poor shade range doesn’t cater for anyone whose skin is darker than mine.

The consistency is a bit thicker and harder to blend than my current favourite Benefit Hello Flawless foundation. I’d say this foundation gives a medium coverage, with the potential to build up to full coverage. My skin doesn’t look as flawless as with Benefit Hello Flawless, but it does look brighter and more dewy.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation, £10.99

In general, I’m pleased with this foundation, but if I had to choose a high street foundation to repurchase, I’d go for the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation instead (review). I think the Primer is the little gem in the Lumi Magique range, and as a collection (primer, concealer and foundation) it’s a really good investment, albeit a pricey one for the high street, that gives you a ‘lit from within’ finish.

L’Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation is available now from Boots, priced at £10.99. It’s currently on a 3 for 2 offer, so if you also get the concealer and the primer from the Lumi Magique range, the cheapest of the 3 is free!

Au revoir!

It’s fine on dry skin, meaning that it doesn’t cling on to dry patches and things like that, but if you’re going for a drugstore / high street foundation, I’d go for Rimmel Wake Me Up because it has a better finish and it blends in better! I’ve reviewed the Rimmel foundation previously, so just search for ‘Rimmel Wake Me Up’ at the top of the page to read my review :) xx

Thanks for the advice, i’m hoping the Rimmel one has a very light feel. I usually use NARS Sheer glow which gives a medium coverage, amazing finish but feels SO light. I just want something a little cheaper for everyday use and for the summer months.

I really enjoyed reading your reviews on the l’oreal lumi & benefit oxygen foundations. I was torn between the two, but having received a free sample of L’oreal and tried it out for myself I was really impressed with the coverage, colour match and overall look.  I was still unsure whether to try the benefit still and googles it I came across your page! Your face looks amazing with both foundations on but (without meaning to sound rude) I really think this L’oreal one is better suited to you than the benefit one, just my personal opinion but your face looks slightly more matte with a subtle youthful shine in these ones, I think the benefit one is a bit tooo shiny, again just my thoughts but you have convinced me to buy the L’oreal one! So thank you :)
