Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation (Review and Swatches)
26 April 2012
For a while I’ve been in the search for a foundation which would blow my mind just as much as the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. I’ve recently discovered a few good ones, but the shades have been either too pink, too light or too dark. A couple of weeks ago, I was having a little chat with one of the girls at the Benefit counter and she introduced me to their new foundation. That was my lucky day!

Benefit Hello Flawless foundation is an oil-free brightening liquid foundation containing SPF 25. The coverage is buildable from light to medium, which leaves the skin healthy-looking with a flawless finish. With 9 shades available to choose from, there’s a great selection for medium/olive skintones. My skin is medium olive with warm yellow undertones and I was matched with the shade ‘toasted beige’, which is the 6th shade from lighter to darker. It was an absolute perfect match to my skin, and that’s pretty hard to find. If you’re very pale or very dark, or if you have pink undertones, you may find it difficult to find a perfect match with this foundation, but if you’re somewhere in the middle with yellow undertones, there’s a very good chance you’ll find a perfect match.

Products that claim ‘flawless complexions’ are usually just using marketing techniques to lure customers, but this foundation really does come very close to a flawless finish. First, I prepped my skin with the Benefit Moisture Prep Toning Lotion (review to come!) and applied the foundation with my fingers. I noticed I achieved a light coverage, not very flawless, but nevertheless my skin looked quite good and luminous. The next day I tried it with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush (review to come!) and that made such a big difference; I now achieved a medium coverage with a pretty flawless finish!
I cannot rave enough about this foundation. It has stepped up to the spot once only occupied but the Chanel Vialumiere Aqua foundation, and if you’re medium skin toned, you should really give this a go! If you have already tried it, let me know how it’s worked out for you :)
Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation is available now from Benefit, Boots and Debenhams, priced at £24.50.
Au revoir!
